Baghouse Refurbishments
A baghouse is a type of air pollution control equipment which is used to remove particulate matter, or dust, from industrial processes. It works by filtering air through a series of fabric bags, capturing the dust and particles before they are released into the atmosphere.
Baghouses are responsible for cleaning the air, which is especially important for workers in an industrial setting. Otherwise, these workers would be left to inhale dust and other potentially harmful particles.
Here is everything you need to know about a baghouse service, baghouse dust collection and why baghouse refurbishments are so important.
What is a Baghouse?
Baghouses are used in the industrial sector to capture particles, dust and fumes. They work by passing contaminated air through filter bags that trap the particles in them and release clean fresh air that is uncontaminated. Baghouses are commonly used in industries such as cement production. They play an important role in reducing air pollution and maintaining Air Quality Standards.

Baghouse Repair
Baghouses are exposed to extremely high temperatures, gas and corrosive particles. All these things cause damage to a baghouse and cause wear to the surrounding steel plate work. If a baghouse is damaged, then this can affect its collection efficiency, meaning that the collection systems are not adequately filtering dust particles from the air.
Baghouse repair involves replacing worn or damaged baghouse filter bags, repairing or replacing damaged components, and performing routine maintenance to keep things operating efficiently. During the repair process, the baghouse is taken offline, and the airflow is redirected so that the repair work can be safely performed. The filter bags are inspected, and any that are torn or worn are replaced.
Baghouse Types
There are a few different types of baghouses available. Each one is designed for dust collection, removing dust and other particles from the air.
For example, there is the shaker baghouse, which uses a mechanical shaker to shake the filter bags and knock off dust particles. There are also reverse-air baghouses, which work by having the dirty air enter the bottom of the unit and the clean air released from the top.
Pulse-jet baghouses use short bursts of high-pressure air to clean the filter bags, with the dust collected in a hopper at the bottom of the unit.
The type of baghouse or dust collection systems you use should depend on the results you want to achieve. If you have any questions about which one is right for you, then contact our team and ask us by clicking here.
